Opal Is a Diamond

directed by Jane Jones

Again, Opal's abundant good nature has made her the victim of another's baser instincts, this time the culprit being an oily, unscrupulous politician who is running for re-election as mayor. But Opan, abetted by new friends and old, decides to fight back--by becoming a candidate herself! To the consternation of her rival, Opal's appeal to the voters is embarrassingly great, and foul play appears to be the only way to stave off an upset. What ensues will keep the audience in suspense--and roaring with laughter, until an unexpected turn of events brings all to its happy, lighthearted and delightfully satisfying conclusion.

Almost, Maine

directed by Doug Grooms

On a cold, clear, moonless Friday night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost's residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised; hearts are broken. Love is lost, found, and confounded. But the bruises heal and the hearts mend--almost. Almost, Maine inventively explores the mysteries of the human heart, touching and audiences with laughter, heartbreak and hope.

Seussical, the musical

directed by Jerry Zimmerman, assisted by Linda McClure

The story centers around Horton the Elephant, who finds himself faced with a double challenge--not only must he protect his tiny friend Jojo (and all the invisible Whos) from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him, the only one who recognizes "his kind and powerful heart." Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant, in a story that makes you laugh and cry.

The Unexpected Guest

directed by George Dunster

After a dense fog forces his car off a remote road in Wales, a stranger finds his way to an isolated house--where he discovers a woman standing over the dead body of her husband, with a gun in her hand. In a daze, she confesses to the crime. But the unexpected guest is not convinced, and the estate is soon brimming with suspects, clues, and intrigue in one of Agatha Christie's finest mysteries.

You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown

directed by Rod Blackwell

A program note says that that the time of the action is "an average day in the life of Charlie Brown." It really is just that, a day made up of little moments picked from all the days of Charlie Brown, from Valentine's Day to the baseball season, from wild optimism to utter despair, all mixed in with the lives of his friends (both human and non-human) and strung together on the string of a single day, from bright uncertain morning to hopeful starlit evening.
