The Story of My Life

directed by Doug Grooms

The Story of My Life tells the story of two childhood friends and how their friendship profoundly defined their lives. Thomas Weaver is a best-selling, award-winning author. Alvin Kelby was his best friend for thirty years. But time can test the bonds of friendship, and when it does, Thomas calls on the only resource he has--his stories of Alvin--to learn where things went wrong. A richly melodic musical, this is a soaring tribute to the power of friendship and the people who change our lives forever.

Performances: September 22, 23, 24, 25*, 29, 30,  October 1, 2*

The Psychic

directed by Steve Lane

Adam Webster, a down-on-his-luck writer, in desperation to make the rent, has put a sign in his apartment window, "Psychic Readings $25." The characters it draws in lead into a tangled murder mystery of sorts in this hilarious orginal comedy.

Performances:  November 10, 11, 12, 13*, 17, 18, 19, 20*

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

directed by Linda McClure

Six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser.

This is a hilarious tale of overachievers' angst chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. The show's Tony Award winning creative team has created the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time.

Performances:  January 26, 27, 28, 29*, February 2, 3, 4, 5*, 9, 10, 11

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

directed by Jack Paulus

A charming rogue contrives to serve a short sentence in an airy mental institution rather  than in a prison. This, he learns, was a mistake. He clashes with the head nurse, a fierce artinet. Quickly, he takes over the yard and accomplishes what the medical profession has been unable to do for twelve years; he makes a presumed deaf and dumb Indian talk. He leads others out of introversion, stages a revolt so that they can see the world series on television, and arranges a rollicking midnight party with liquor and chippies. For one offense, the head nurse has him submit to shock treatment. The party is too horrid for her and she forces him to submit to a final correction a frontal lobotomy.

Auditions: January 29 & 30

Performances:  March 22, 23, 24, 25*, 29, 30, 31, April 1*

The Red Velvet Cake War

directed by Linda Stanley

In this riotously funny Southern-friend comedy, the three Verdeen cousins--Gaynelle, Peaches, and Jimmie Wyvette--could not have picked a worse time to throw their family reunion. Their outrageious antics will make you wish your own family reunions were this much fun!

Auditions: March 25 & 26
